Accolades for
Cigarette Tree
Belly Full of Eggs, the three piece of fucked up foot tappin’ robot rock, follow up last year’s Wilbur with Cigarette Tree. At the base is that early Queens of the Stone Age sound – minimalist riffs and straightforward rhythms. On some songs, the drumming is so stripped down, it makes their songs almost danceable. Well, for pill heads and meth addicts, at least. And if they could dance. I'd say Belly Full of Eggs is good for those into Death from Above 1979 and other bands that stick to the basics of rock but inject a healthy amount of quirkiness. It’s an odd slab of heavy rock for sure.
